Henrick Sedin Wins Hart Trophy

Published on June 24th, 2010

Congratulations to Henrick Sedin for being the recipient of this year’s Hart Trophy. He managed to beat out Sydney Crosby and two time winner Alex Ovechkin.  Earlier this year, he was also named Sporting News’ Player of the Year determined by a vote from players, coaches and executives.

Sedin is now the first Canuck to ever win the Hart Trophy. He won with a total of 46 votes and 894 points. Ovechkin was not too far behind receiving 40 first place votes and acquiring 834 points. He led the league in scoring with 112 points. His name is now engraved next to legends such as Gretzky, Lemieux, Howe and Richard.
